Biography
Dmitry Zagumennikov is a classical guitarist born in 1987 in Russia.
His guitar playing is characterized by brilliant technique, delicate control of dynamic nuances, great depth of interpretation, and , an extensive repertoire covering periods and styles from Renaissance through Impressionism and contemporary music.
He received his first guitar lessons at the age of eleven and also studied piano at music school.
In 2002, he moved to Moscow to focus on the guitar, studying first at the Alfred Schnittke College of Music and later at the Gnesin’s State Academy of Music, finishing in 2011. From 2012 to 2015 he studied at the Graz University of Art in Austria. During this time, he won many awards including competitions in Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Ukraine.
Since 2014, Mr. Zagumennikov has been living in Berlin, Germany, where he obtained his master’s degree at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music.
He performs internationally from Russia and Europe to the Middle East and also performs with various chamber and symphony orchestras as well as small ensemble groups.
Dmitry Zagumennikov recorded three solo CDs. His guitar arrangements of Erik SatieSatie'spublished by German Edition Margaux.
Currently, he plays on the guitar made by Spanish guitar maker Andres D. Marvi.
