Warren Nicholson

Biography

Guitarist Warren Nicholson won the 1997 “Artists Internal Auditions” in NYC, leading to a Carnegie Recital Hall Debut in 1998. As an active soloist and chamber musician, he has been invited to play for the Riverside Church Sunday Chapel Series (NYC), The Mississauga Guitar Society,” RBG’S Young People’s concerts,” and ‘Music Mondays’ (Toronto), St Luke’s Recitals (Ottawa), St Andrew’s noontime recitals, St Georges ”Summer concerts” Kingston, “Movimento Violao” (Sao Paulo Brazil)and “Composer’s Concordance “(NYC). He has collaborated with: Absolute Ensemble, Oakville Symphony, Etobicoke Philharmonic, The Mississauga Children’s Choir and Toronto Children's Chorus, and the Oakville Choral society. He has premiered works by composers; Gene Pritsker, Jeff Johnson, and Arthur Kampela. In 2013, he released: “Latin American Guitar Favourites” for solo guitar, on Cd and I –tunes, and in 2018- “Spanish Miniatures” the music of Torroba, Sor, Tarrega, Albeniz, Calatayud, and Pipo, available on CD, I tunes /Spotify."Sonidos del Sur" released on Composer Composers Concordance/Naxos of America in 2021 featuring works by; Ardevol, Barrios, Lauro, Diego Pujol, Pernambuco, and Reis.

Mr. Nicholson studied with Norbert Kraft and Mark Delpriora at Manhattan School of Music (MM, 94) and McMaster University (BM 91), with post-graduate studies at Domaine Forget Quebec. He has taught music at Brooklyn College in New York.
