Riccardo Maini
Biography
Born in Domodossola in the province of Verbania in 1996, he grew up in the Vigezzo Valley. He began playing the piano at the age of 7, later becoming a pupil of Maestro Roberto Olzer, an internationally known organist, pianist and composer/performer of jazz music.
In these years, in which he has performed in concerts in his area, he has also participated in piano competitions such as the "International Piano Competition" of Atri-Teramo and the International Piano Competition "La Palma d' Oro" of San Benedict del Tronto.
As a private student, he obtained the basic level certification at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan and the intermediate level certification at the Guido Cantelli Conservatory of Novara.
Inspired by authors such as Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi, Olafur Arnalds, Joep Beving and Yann Tiersen, in 2018 he made and released his self-produced first album "Dreaming The Universe".
In 2019 he was selected by Maestro Roberto Cacciapaglia to attend the academy for young composers "Educational Music Academy" in Milan.
This experience gave birth in the year 2020 to the new album "Love and Elements", created under the artistic direction of the same master Roberto Cacciapaglia and published by Ema Edition.
In this same year the score of "Dreaming The Universe", contained in the album of the same name, was chosen to be kept in the library of UCLA (University of California - Los Angeles).
From December 2020 she begins lessons with the internationally renowned pianist and concert pianist Daniela Hlinkova who performs in concert halls such as the Gasteig in Munich, the Konzerthaus Berlin.
In 2021 he won as Best Classical artist at The Akademia Music Awards in Los Angeles
In 2021 he participates in the international competition for composers "Composition Competition Oper Leipzig" in Leipzig (Germany) with the piece Air almost reaching the final.
In 2021 he began studying with internationally renowned pianist Andrei Ivanovich Andreev.
In October 2021 he began his studies at the Rachmaninov Academy in Catania.
In December 2021 the album Love and Elements wins as best classical album at the "The Akademia Music Awards" competition in Los Angeles
In February 2022 he also began playing at the Cristallo Luxury Resort & Spa hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
During this year he plays at numerous festivals as a pianist Ema Edition, including Piano City Milano, Naturally Pianoforte, Milano Off and Montecatini International Short Film festival.
Also in 2022 he starts playing at the Hotel Ascona where he still plays and in 2023 he also starts at the Hotel Villa Aminta (Stresa)
In 2023 he released his latest album for Ema Edition, "Out there" passing to the famous Italian record company Halidon Music in June 2023 with which he will publish the next works
