Matteo Piccininni
Biography
Since age 3, he’s been a dedicated musician, starting with Suzuki method at “Civico Istituto musicale Fergusio” in Savigliano. He later excelled in classical guitar with M° Cristiano Alasia. At 11, he aced the conservatory admission, setting a 20-year record. Under various teachers, including Giovanni Giannini and Achille Lampo, his piano skills flourished. He also received private tutelage from Wally Peroni.
Noteworthy master classes followed with luminaries like Paul Badura-Skoda. At 14, he wowed in the “Young Talents” concert. Guided by Wally Peroni, he added composition and choral conducting to his repertoire at 15 with M° Elena Camoletto. Just a year later, he conducted at the “World Concert for Peace”, impressively being the youngest among the conductors. Leading the “Ensamble Vocal” and “Compagnia Musicale Cuneese”, he showed versatility.
He’s collaborated extensively with local institutions like the “Teatro Toselli” of Cuneo. In 2019, he earned a spot in the conducting course at “Arrigo Boito” conservatory and at “Alto Perfezionamento Musicale” in Saluzzo, studying under M° Donato Renzetti. He’s recently entered the competitive arena, making it to the finals in his first international competitions. Since Oct. 1, 2022, he’s been conducting the orchestra for “Vida Art” agency.
