Il Gesto Armonico is an ensemble founded in 2014 with the aim of exploring, studying, and performing various chamber music repertoires from the 17th and 18th centuries, following historical criteria and performed on original instruments.

One of its primary objectives is to achieve the most accurate historically informed interpretation possible in each of its projects. For this reason, research, documentation, and in-depth study of all kinds of original sources are key pillars of Il Gesto Armonico. Similarly, the integration of research into historical dance and the inclusion of historical choreographies play an important role in the group’s programming and repertoire.

As an ensemble, it is highly versatile, with the number of musicians varying depending on the program being performed at any given time. All collaborators are specialists and scholars in the field of early music interpretation.

Since its inception, Il Gesto Armonico has performed concerts throughout Spain (Catalonia, Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera, Almagro, Madrid, etc.) and across Europe, especially in France.

In terms of collaborations, notable projects include the Baroque production La Danza de Céfalo y Procris, directed by dancer and choreographer Nick Nguyen and presented at the 41st Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival. Another ambitious project was a collaboration with the renowned violinist and conductor Sigiswald Kuijken, with whom they performed the complete first volume of Telemann's Tafelmusik.

Il Gesto Armonico organizes and is the resident group of the Festival de Música Antiga des Migjorn Gran in Menorca.

Since 2020, the ensemble has been a member of GEMA (the Association of Spanish Early Music Groups).
