Fernando Morais

Composers

Biography

Fernando Morais is a renowned Brazilian musician, composer, conductor, arranger and professor with over two decades of experience in the music industry. He was born in Santos and began his musical journey under the guidance of Professor Roberto Farias. Morais' passion for music led him to win a scholarship from the VITAE foundation in 1992, which enabled him to pursue his studies in the United States at the prestigious Hartt School-CT. He then went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in music from Faculdade Mozarteum-SP and UniCEUB in Brasília. Since 2000, he has been an integral part of the OSTNCS as a horn player and a professor at the Brasília School of Music. He has also won several composition awards, and his works are played and recorded both in Brazil and abroad. Over the last ten years, he has focused on the pedagogical aspect of teaching music, publishing five methods and with five more still awaiting publication. Despite this focus on teaching, his career as a horn player, composer, and arranger has seen him dedicate himself to conducting and in-depth research into Brazilian composers of the 20th century, including VillaLobos, Guerra-Peixe, Santoro, Guarnieri, Mignone, and more. Morais' catalogue of works now boasts over 115 pieces, with some of them being sold by notable publishers such as Danza Music Latin America, Euphonium.com Publications, International Horn Society, and Editora MusiMed. His passion for music and dedication to his craft is a testament to his talent and skill as a musician, composer, and professor.
