Dima Bakri

Opera Singers / Mezzo-soprano

Biography

Dima is the only Arab singer in the world specializing in European historical music (Musica Antica & Baroque ) and the first Palestinian Mezzosoprano. She is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance in Classical Piano Performance, and a graduate of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice, Italy, with a degree in Opera Singing (Lirica) and a Master degree in Renaissance and Baroque Singing. Her final Thesis discusses and analyses the Lament of Zaida Mora by the seventeenth-century composer Luigi Rossi.

 

She has participated in numerous Masterclasses with renowned artists, such as the Maestri Leone Magiera, Bruno de Simone, Alan Curtis, Sara Mingardo, Ulrike Sonntag, Bernhard Renzikowski, Drew Minter, Raffaele Pe, Sonia Prina, Roberto Jachini Virgili, and others.
