Antoine Bernheim

Biography

Antoine Bernheim was born in Lausanne on February 15th, 1969. He studied singing in Geneva with Nicole Buloze, Franz Petri and Gloria Davy, and attended Masterclasses with Gabriel Bacquier, Régine Crespin, José van Dam, Frank Ferrari, Annick Massis, Christa Ludwig, Sena Jurinac, Thomas Quasthoff, Michele Pertusi, Leontina Vaduva, Cheryl Studer, Leo Nucci, David Rendall and Giacomo Aragall.

He won second prize in Concours Lyrique de Moirans (France – 2002) second prize in Concorso Internazionale di Racconigi (Italy – 2006) first prize in Concorso Internazionale Pietro Sardelli (Roma, Italy – 2010) first prize and Rossini prize in Italian Opera Florence Competion (2018).

 

Antoine Bernheim recorded in 1993 the baritone solo part in Claude Yvoire's cantata "Gloria Sepharadica" and made his operatic debuts in 1994 as Don Alfonso in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte in Ropraz and Sion.

 

He sung in many concerts all over Switzerland but also in other countries, such as France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Turkey.

 

Since 1994, he has been singing in operas in Geneva ( “Samson et Dalila”, “Don Giovanni”, “La Scala di Seta”, “Rigoletto”, “Il Signor Bruschino”, “Le Cadi Dupé”, “Rita”, “Le Docteur Miracle”, “Monsieur Choufleuri”, “L’Inganno Felice”, “Il Giovedi Grasso”, “Il Segreto di Susanna”, “The Little Sweep” , “Amahl and the Night Visitors“), in other swiss towns (“Cosi Fan Tutte”,“La Cambiale di Matrimonio”, “Die Dreigrosschenoper”, “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “L’Italiana in Algeri”) as well as in France (“Don Giovanni”, “La Périchole” in Lyon, “Don Pasquale” in Paris), in Italy (“La Cambiale di Matrimonio”, “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia“,“Il Signor Bruschino“,“L’Elisir d’Amore“, “Falstaff”, “Carmen”, “La Bohème”, ”La Cenerentola”, ”Don Giovanni”), in Bulgaria (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia“ and “L’Elisir d’Amore“) and in Germany (“La Cenerentola”, “Cosi Fan Tutte”, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”). In 2016 he made his debuts in Czech Republic with ”Il Trovatore” and also performed in ”I Pazzi per Progetto” (Geneva), ”Falstaff”, ”Don Giovanni” , ”La Bohème” and ”La Cambiale di Matrimonio” (Italy). In 2017 he debuted in Russia in Paisiello's ”La Finta Amante”, debuted in 2018 Tannhäuser and Un Ballo in Maschera as well as Tosca in 2019.
