Biography

Born and raised in the idyllic Waldviertel, Klaus Haidl has been deeply passionate about art and its many forms from a young age. His initial exploration into human medicine was a brief detour before he decided to fully dedicate himself to a career in music. 

His academic journey began with jazz and popular music under the guidance of Mag. Wolfgang Wendlinger, followed by contemporary classical music with Dr. Gunter Schneider, eventually led him to early music under Dr. Luciano Contini.

Throughout his studies, Klaus gained extensive experience as a lutenist, guitarist, arranger, composer, and educator, forming the foundation of his versatile career. His profound understanding of various musical genres enables him to seamlessly transition between early music, contemporary works, jazz, and improvisation.

Musical Career:

Klaus Haidl performs with an array of ensembles and orchestras, showcasing his expertise in early, new, and improvised music. He has collaborated with a wide range of contemporary composers, contributing to the creation of new works while also researching and interpreting historical manuscripts. His versatility is further demonstrated in interdisciplinary projects that blend literature, film, performance, theater, and music.
