Eunhee Baek, born in Seoul, Korea, has established herself as a distinguished concert pianist renowned for her sophisticated and refined playing, coupled with an extensive repertoire. Commencing her piano studies at the tender age of three, Eunhee embarked on a musical journey that would lead her to stages around the world.

Specialized in the repertoire of Franz Liszt and contemporary music, she brings a unique and expert perspective to her performances and projects.

Early Years and Education:

Eunhee's musical journey began in her hometown of Seoul, Korea, where she demonstrated exceptional talent from an early age. Her first solo recital, held at the prestigious Kumho Art Hall when she was just 13, marked the beginning of her illustrious career. She continued to captivate audiences with numerous recitals and performances alongside various orchestras.

Driven by her passion for music, Eunhee pursued precollege studies in piano and composition at the Korean National University of Arts before venturing to Berlin to study at the renowned University of the Arts (UdK). Under the guidance of esteemed pianist Mi-Joo Lee, she obtained her diploma in 2014 and her Konzertexamen in 2017, solidifying her foundation in classical piano performance.

Eunhee's passion for musical knowledge led her to further her studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she pursued a post-graduate program under the tutelage of Jacques Rouvier. Additionally, she honed her craft at the International Piano Academy Imola under the guidance of Boris Petrushansky, further enriching her musical perspective.

Eunhee Baek's talent has been recognized on the international stage, earning her accolades from prestigious competitions worldwide. Notable achievements include being a prize winner at esteemed competitions such as:

-          International Artur-Schnabel Competition in Berlin (2011) 

-          22nd Young Virtuoso International Competition in Zagreb (2016)

-          Lyon International Competition (2018)

-          International Liszt Danubia Competition

-          Swiss International Online Competition (2021)

-          International Franz Liszt Center Competition (2022). 

In addition to her competition successes, Eunhee has been a recipient of scholarships from esteemed institutions including the Gisela & Erich Andreas Foundation, Foundation Clavarte, and Deutscher Musikrat.

Teaching and Collaborations:

Beyond her thriving solo career, Eunhee Baek is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. As a distinguished teacher, she imparts her knowledge and passion for music to young aspiring pianists, inspiring them to reach their full potential.

Eunhee is also an integral member of the "Berliner Ensemble Essenz," a chamber music group renowned for its innovative interpretations of contemporary repertoire. Her collaborative endeavors with the ensemble showcase her versatility and commitment to exploring new musical horizons.

Since 2019, Eunhee has been holding a position in the department of piano accompaniment at the University of the Arts Berlin, where she continues to inspire aspiring musicians.
